Being civic minded, we decided that this was they year that The Phoenix Insurance started “giving back” and donating some money to charity – but which one? There are so many deserving charities out there that we couldn’t decide where to make a donation. We decided to let our fans on Facebook decide where our donation goes. We were overwhelmed by the response, and had 44 501c charities nominated to be the recipient. Since our Facebook fans were so charitable, we decided to have a little fun with it, and the 2015 Phoenix Insurance Charity Championship was born.

OU Club of Dallas Scholarship Fund
Dallas Metroplex Foster Parent Association
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County
Jewish Family Services of Dallas
The American Diabetes Assosciation
St Jude Children’s Research Center
Since we had so many nominations, we decided to do a challenge bracket on our Facebook page and see who gets the most votes. I put the list of nominees into a randomizer to match them up, then made made a bracket, as seen below.
Each match up will be posted on Facebook for a certain amount of time, with our fans voting for the victor – all the way until a champion is crowned. Think March Madness/Final Four but instead of basketball, it’s a popularity contest.
This contest isn’t just for charities though – if you participate by filling out the bracket and posting a picture of it HERE and you end up picking the winning charity, you can win four tickets to a Texas Rangers Baseball game. The greatest thing is that unlike March Madness, you can actually influence the outcome by making sure your friends all vote for your team – and guarantee yourself some sweet baseball this spring.
We will keep the bracketology portion of the game open until Monday, February 23. The first games will start that afternoon. In order to be entered for the Rangers Tickets, you MUST post your photo on the Facebook post HERE before Monday Feb 23.
